Description

Centroheliozoa with flat , tangential, siliceous scales consisting of 2 parallel plates connected by internal radial septa (seen in scanning electron micrographs as radial striations or ribs). The scale has a hollow marginal rim. Radial elements are absent. May form clusters of cells . Reference: Siemensma and Roijackers (1988b) .
