HYSTEROCINETIDAE

family / THIGMOTRICHIDA / HYSTEROCINETIDAE

Description

Prominent , anterior, thigmotactic sucker; may have segments of anterior kineties in unciliated area; oral infraciliature reduced and at posterior with 0Pk2, two kinetosomes wide, in two segments Fig . 70. Koz with a peristomal segment around the posterior B. Anterior s pole and an infundibular segment; symbionts in Ngassam , Gra oligochaetes and molluscs ; 15 genera. Note. Hysterocinetids and paraptychostomids share some features with astomes, supporting Division by placement of the Subclasses Scuticociliatia and symbionts of Astomatia in the same Class: an anterior sucker- like organelle occurs in these two families and also Genus Raabel in haptophryid astomes; and division by chain- formation occurs in hysterocinetids (e.g ., Kozloffia, Fig . 70) and some astomes (e .g., Family Sucker with 6 Haptophryidae; Family Radiophryidae,) . thigmotactic 71 ) . ntative Genera in the Family y binary fission ...................... .. .. .. ..... 2 by catenulation or chain formation .... ....................................................
