Description

Oral polykinetids straight , never sigmoid (Fig . 7) . Note. The species of Tetrahymena identified here on morphological bases are each probably composed of multiple genetically and reproductively isolated species . For examp le, th e Tetrahymena pyriformis-complex is now divided into nominate species by Nanney and McCoy (1976).
