Description

Centrohelid heliozoa with a periplast of external and internal layers of siliceous elements. The internal elements are tangential plate-scales lacking a hollow marginal rim, while the external elements may be tangential plates with a well developed central sternum and sometimes with a concave base , or funnel-like structures, or radial spicules with a well developed shaft. Six genera.
