Description

Test free , flattened and irregular in form , with or without ridge-like crests and of very firm consistency. Xenophyae all of same type and cemented only at random points of contact; test space consists of numerous small interstices between grains. Occurrence : one locality off southeast Africa , 5110 m depth. Only known OREA species Maudammina arenaria Tendal , 1972 (Fig. 5) : Test yellowish-brown in color, very firmly constructed , 45 mm long and 4-8 mm thick. Flattened and more or less irregularly bent with a few plate-like ridges on one side. Xenophyae sand grains. Reference : Tendal (1972) . (after Tendal , 1972, new print) . Scale bar=IO mm .
