Description

Generic diagnosis: Test of friable consistency, lumpy and composed of numerous thin layers of xenophyae arranged in wafer-like stack. Granellare and stercomare occupy flat spaces between these layers. Occurrence : Central Pacific , 4438-5353 m. Monospecific . more or less irregular , rounded mass 5-25 mm diameter. Xenophyae exclusively radiolarian tests cemented into numerous thin layers each consisting of a single layer of particles. Intervening spaces are of approximately same thickness as layers themselv es. Ref . Tendal (1972) . Tendal , 1972 , new print) . Scale bar=IO mm .
