Description

Cells are ellipsoid with a slightly pointed anterior; a furrow is lacking , the tubular gullet subtending DA 1 1 21 the posterior margin of the vestibulum , extending to approximately the middle of the cell and lined with four rows of ejectisomes; the periplast has an inner sheet and an outer component of a thick mat of coarse fibrils. The periplastidial compartment contains a single , lobed chloroplast, a pyrenoid and a nucleomorph located in an anterior groove or depression in the pyrenoid. Chloroplast contains the biliprotein Cr-phycoerthrin . Marine (Hi II , 1991 b) . the complex furrow of this genus. Scale=1 1-Jm. (From Kugrens et al. , 1986)
