Description

Marine amoeba with rapidly moving locomotive form as a thick cylinder around 60 1-1m in length. Produces eruptive hyaline bulges. Multinucleate with around 6 nuclei but up to 37 per cell. Posterior adhesive filaments a common feature . At the ultrastructural level surface coat as a thin glycocalyx. Monotypic genus. Euhyperamoeba, a limax marine amoeba, is similar to Gruberella (see Chapter on Lobosea). forms . Bar=1 0 IJm .
