(Fig . 17) Locomotive amoeba limax with rapid, eruptive monopodia! locomotion. Lobed pseudopodia produced from anterior hyaloplasm . Posterior uroidal filaments common . Usually uninucleate, nucleus with a conspicuous central nucleolus. At the ultrastructural level , mitochondria with flattened cristae and cell surface without coating. Forms spherical cysts with double walls , with pores and plugs . This stra in possesses characters intermediate between the families Gruberellidae and Vahlkampfiidae (Kadiri et al. , 1992) . Monotypic genus, marine . Type species : P. chaumonti Kadiri , Joyon & Pussard , 1992.
